FREE LEGENDS MILLION TICKET OFFER FOR DAVID RAGAN FAN CLUB MEMBERS
CONCORD, N.C. (July 8, 2010) – Members of David Ragan’s fan club will get an opportunity to enjoy the racing that made him a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star with a free ticket offer to the Legends Million on July 15-17 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Ragan, in partnership with Charlotte Motor Speedway, is offering David Ragan Fan Club Members one free single-day ticket to the Legends Million, the largest grassroots race in history. More than 250 drivers from 35 states and two foreign countries have registered for the event, which features a total purse of $1 million. The A-Feature winner is guaranteed to take home an unprecedented $250,000, while the final spot in the feature is assured $10,000.
Ragan honed his racing skills in a Legend Car, winning the Young Lions division in the state of Georgia and the Semi-Pro Championship at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2000. In 2001 and 2002, he competed in the Legends Pro Division, participating in the Kangaroo Express Summer Shootout Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Ragan can't believe an event of this caliber is going to be run at the grassroots racing level.
"I know Rusty Wallace won $220,000 when he spun Darrell Waltrip to win the Winston years ago,” said Ragan. “Can you imagine what a bunch of Legend Car drivers will do for $250,000? It will definitely be an exciting event! The Legend Car Series is where my career began, so it's nice to come back on a weekend when we aren't racing the UPS Ford Fusion and race the UPS Legend Car.
"I'm sure the staff and management at Charlotte Motor Speedway will have a spectacular event planned as always,” Ragan said. “They know how to make it exciting and when you put that much money up-for-grabs, it's going to be crazy.”
To receive the free single-day ticket, David Ragan Fan Club members must show their fan club identification card at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s main ticket office on the second floor of Smith Tower near the speedway’s main entrance.
Competitors who register for the Legends Million must register in one of three divisions: Young Lions/Semi-Pro, Masters or The Legends Million, which is open to all drivers. Each division will run heat races and an A-Main race, with the Legends Million A-Feature serving as the grand finale of the three-day event.
